ORC Morning Room Makeover – Wk 3
It’s week 3 of the ORC morning room makeover! We have hit a few bumps in the road but that’s normal at this point, at least it is for me.
Hey there! Here we are, week 3. I’m telling you the moment you decide to throw your hat into this challenge, the clock starts ticking faster! Ha, ha! Let’s talk about my ORC morning room makeover and kitchen update.
Here’s the big “To-Do” list –
Morning Room side
- Install cabinets
- Install floating shelves
- Add cabinetry hardware
- New light fixture ✅
- Add curtains/curtain rod
- New rug ✅
- Restore artwork
- Replace current dining chairs ✅
Kitchen side
- New pendant lights ✅
- Install matte black faucet
- Add details to vent hood
- Add cabinetry hardware
- New barstools ✅
- Extend cabinets to the ceiling
- Build a frame for new artwork above the stove area
We’ve got a few checkmarks up there and the cabinetry is progressing. Looks like at the end of next week – the installation will happen! Week 3 is mostly focused on the morning room makeover.
My curtain saga continues. My samples were lost in the mail and had to be reshipped. The website says Saturday…we will see.
We have been slowly cleaning a few oil paintings from the 1930s. The process is slow and tedious but it will be worth it to see these beauties back to their original color.
I am kicking around ideas to add a little more character to the hood vent and I am purchasing caning to up the character on my new cabinet doors. You can find the link here.
The electrician will come next week to move the outlets up to the proper spot. This project is full of lots of little moving parts. BUT we are moving forward!
