Brilliant Colors of Fall Home Tour 2020

| | |

We are jumping into Fall today! The Brilliant Colors of Fall Home Tour is live.

Hello and welcome to another day of Autumn inspiration with the Brilliant Colors of Fall home tour! If you are coming from our first stop on today’s tour – The Happy Housie, WELCOME! If not, click here to see her beautiful take on Fall.

I am so very happy you are here today!

I kept the front porch simple and spent a lot of time on the stairs. The idea of adding pretty swags to the newel posts outside of Christmas seemed intriguing and I have always loved the “massive pumpkin groupings on stairs” pictures. With the new wider stairs- it seemed like this year was finally the year!

Let’s start with the front porch decor –

I used ochre and bright yellows as my main color.  The door wreath was such an easy project to make, I just added two little yellow flower sprays and a simple bow.

I am so happy to reveal the newly made-over fountain! At the last minute, I had a change of heart and instead of throwing it out (years of use and it was in really rough condition), I put it on the moving truck. It sat in the garage until I did a little research. The research paid off and it looks better than new! We finished just in time for it to be included in the Fall decor. Funny how the little things make a house feel more like home, right?

A couple of pumpkins strategically placed and plaid pillows really make the porch feel welcoming and fall-ready.

Come on in and let me show you my new favorite pumpkins!

What do you think? Not too shabby. Would you believe that the only thing I spent money on was the velvet ribbon and one small bunch of leaves? I had everything else from over the years – just repurposed and reimagined the decor! When I was coming up with what I wanted to do for decor – I knew I wanted “Carrera marble” pumpkins and with a little leftover paint – I got them! Tutorial coming soon, I can’t keep this easy process to myself! Looking forward to sharing it with you.

The stair swags are so easy to make and I just cut up and reused old fall decor. My stairs are basically in the center of the home so decor here gives the “wow” throughout the whole home.

In the stair nook, I added a cozy fur throw and of course mood lighting befitting an old captain’s desk.

  2. Joy I love your entry and porch! What a great addition the fountain was…it completes your porch. Oh and those stairs!!! Goodness they are beautiful and the perfect Fall colors! I’m so glad you were able to join the tour!

  3. Joy!! I love your porch! My porch is so small I can’t fit rocking chairs, but I love how you places regular chairs on the porch. It still gives that “Come and sit down.” feel! Love it! Can’t wait to read your pumpkin painting tutorial!
