Feeling nostalgic this morning. Thinking about the beautiful comfort of home. The permeating smells of a good gumbo or the fragrance of a ginormous pot of red beans and rice. The labor of love given just to see everyone smile.

Smiles so deep that they reached down to the soul leaving no doubt that you are loved and you are home.

That feeling, that legacy has been my goal, my hope from day 1 of being a mom. Have I gotten it right? It’s according to the day you ask.

Creating home has nothing to do with creating perfection. “Home” doesn’t require perfection either. Just purpose to be the place where love resides. Where real conversations can happen. Where truth can be told without destruction. Where the empty can be filled back up.

May you find or create your sense of home today, dear friends.

Time for Thursday Throwback!

This bathroom renovation was quite the challenge in every sense of the word.

It received a serious dose of style. The vanity wall tile inspired my paint colors. “Rock Candy” for the walls, “In the Navy” for the vanity and swipe to see where we used the “Dustblu”.

I feel like a kid on Christmas morning when designs come together beautifully on paper and in real life!

And it doesn’t have to be something I design- I love seeing what friends and colleagues come up with and celebrating their successes. It’s always a happy day when someone is able to rise up and accomplish their dreams or the everyday goal. Don’t you agree?

Happy Monday, friends! Guess what? I think we may now have a stable internet connection! Keeping my fingers crossed! Good way to start Monday, right?

And, speaking of good things... I added a little glam to these candles but brought them down to earth by using my husband’s grandfather’s little milk creamer containers that used to grace the table of the restaurant he owned 60 plus years ago. It’s unexpected and just perfect for a table that will soon be filled with family for Thanksgiving.

So, breakout the family treasures and incorporate them into your centerpiece - definitely a sure fire way to get the conversations going and the gratitude flowing!
